PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Small Town USA, or in recent political terms “Real America”, has been a major part of American identity since the country’s founding. Although lacking a clear definition, the phrase evokes the idea of a close knit community, where everyone knows everyone, where no one is anonymous and everyone is important. It’s a place where firemen are looked up to, family ties are important and the idea of living a slower, simpler life is at the forefront. Does this really exist in 2018 or is it part of a nostalgic past? Creedmoor, NC welcomed me and allowed me to find out.
ARTIST BIO
Sandra Seagroves was born to European parents, who instilled in her a desire to travel the world & embrace different cultures and life perspectives. Along the way, she documented these travel experiences and memories using a point and shoot camera. When she was introduced to the worlds of Documentary and Fine Art Photography, Sandra began to explore photography in earnest. Photography has now become a form of expression, a creative outlet, and above all it has given her a chance to understand and connect with others in a more intimate and meaningful way.
